Our 8 very experienced equine veterinary surgeons are dedicated solely to our Equine Practice, which ensures they are able to provide the full range of equine veterinary services personalised for your requirements. Our long established Equine Practice offers the following veterinary care for all horses and ponies:

Free & Shared Visit Fees
Reduce the cost of your vet’s visit fees by sharing a visit with other owners at the same yard and arranging as many horses to be seen at the same time.

If we see 4 or more horses/ponies at the same visit, the visit fee is not charged.

Shared and Free Visits need to be arranged at the time of booking the appointment.

Fully Mobile Clinic – we come to you
In recognising that for some clients in the south of our area (South of the A41), may find it a little more difficult to bring their horse or pony to our clinics at Barrettstown Equine Clinic, we have introduced a fully equipped mobile clinic for our southern area. As well as providing our normal veterinary services the mobile clinic has a fully mobile digital x-ray allow instant x-rays to be shown, ultrasound, endoscopy & shockwave* treatment (* pre-arranged).

Health Care Plans

The bond between a horse or pony and owner can become very strong and provides huge rewards. Along with the rewards comes the responsibility of caring for a living creature that depends up on you for all its needs such as a balanced diet, regular exercise and a preventative healthcare programme that should include worming, vaccination, dental care and farriery.

Our Healthcare Plan provides you with the peace of mind that your horse or pony is in good health. Our aim is also to build a relationship between yourself, our vets and our support staff, where they are available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

The Healthcare Plan has been designed to focus on the fundamental healthcare areas of owning a horse or pony, and to create an excellent value for money ‘one-stop-shop’ for your routine veterinary needs.

The plan includes 2 visits per year, the cost is fully inclusive – nothing extra to pay, and payments can be spread over 12 months – all for the same cost as a packet of crisps a day.

Laboratory
We have our own Laboratory and three laboratory technicians. This enables us to test a number of samples ourselves and means that we can often get results more rapidly and at less expense to you. Our Laboratory is approved to screen for CEM.

In addition, we use a number of external laboratories for more extensive testing.
