Our full 24 hour Small Animal Veterinary service is provided by our 9 dedicated solely Small Animal Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses.

 

Robin Ireland BVSc MRCVS - Partner
Robin graduated from the University of Queensland Veterinary School, Australia, in 1982 and joined the practice in March 1983. Robin has worked in the small animal department of the practice ever since and became a partner in 1987. Robin's main interests are small animal medicine and ultrasoundgraphy. Robin is based at our Fairford Leys branch surgery.
Ian Paine MA VetMB MRCVS - Partner
Ian joined the practice straight after graduating from Cambridge University in July 1990 and has been based at our Haddenham branch surgery since 1991. His professional interests include all aspects of companion animal surgery.
Malcolm Paul BVSc MRCVS
Malcolm qualified from Bristol University in 1988 and after spending 2 years in mixed practice he joined Hampden Veterinary Hospital in 1991 to further his interest in Small Animal and Exotic species medicine and surgery. He has spent several years with the St. Tiggywinkles wildlife hospital and has particular interests in small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles and tortoises. He also has particular interest in opthalmology in all species. Malcolm is based at our Elm Farm branch surgery.

Luke Cottis BVMS, MRCVS
Luke graduated from Glasgow University in June 1996, and has worked at Hampden Veterinary Hospital since 1996. His particular interests are in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery as well as small animal medicine and surgery. Luke is based at our Elm Farm branch Surgery.
Leonie Pulford BVSc MRCVS
Leonie graduated from the University of Melbourne in December 1983. Leonie's first job was in a dairy cattle practice in Gippsland, Victoria. Leonie then got the travel bug and while visiting Hong Kong obtained a small animal job and stayed there for the next four years. Leonie then travelled to the United Kingdom to do locum work for eighteen months and has been here ever since. Leonie started at Hampden Veterinary Hospital in July 2001, taking a short time off at the end of 2003. Leonie's interest are feline medicine and ophthalmology. Outside of work Leonie enjoys travelling to exotic locations, scuba diving and keep fit.  Leonie is based at our Fairford Leys branch surgery.

Emma Roberts BVetMed MRCVS
Emma graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and has built up her experience in veterinary practices in Aberystwyth, Tilford, Portsmouth amongst others. Emma is a sportswoman, representing the RCVS at hockey as well as playing other sports such as badminton, tennis and squash. Emma is based out of our Watermead Surgery and has a specific interest in surgery as well as clinical nutrition and dermatology.
Richard Rallings BVetMed MRCVS
Richard graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1999 and spent his first 9 years working in a small animal practice in Sussex before joining us in July 2008. He completed his post graduate ESVPS GP Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2005. His particular interests are small animal medicine, cardiology and anaesthesia. Richard is based at our Watermead Surgery.
Heather Singleton BVetMed BSc(Hons) DVM MRCVS
Having graduated in 2003 with a Hons degree in Biological Sciences, Heather went on to complete her veterinary training with the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, where she graduated in 2006. Heather went on to complete first 18 months with a well respected Veterinary Hospital in Devon. In addition to this, Heather has gained valuable experience in carrying out veterinary work overseas, notably in Mozambique and Thailand. A keen sportswoman, Heather’s interests include Lacrosse and scuba diving as well as travelling.
Serena Maini BVSc MRCVS
Serena graduated in 2007 from the University of Bristol Veterinary School. Serena has gained valuable experience at a wide number of veterinary Practices including: Northern Ireland, RSPCA Harmsworth, Oxfordshire and working with the Worldwide Veterinary Service in Peru. Serena’s interests include playing piano, singing, keeping fit and trying new hobbies. Serena currently rotates through all of our Branch surgeries.
Alexandra Norman VN Dip AVN (Surg)- Head Nurse
Alexandra qualified from Berkshire College of Agriculture in 1986 and gained her diploma in Advanced Surgical Nursing in 1995. Alexandra has been with the Practice for over 20 years; 15 of these being as Head Nurse. She particularly enjoys surgical cases, nursing elderly pets and nutrition.
  Our Nurses
Unlike many other practices our excellent veterinary nursing team are dedicated purely for our inpatients. Highly trained and dedicated, our nurses play a vital role in supporting the veterinary surgeons and caring for your pets.
      Our Receptionists
Many of our receptionists have been with us for many years, and are the first point of contact for clients. They are trained beyond the usual receptionist roles to allow them to provide you with advice about diets, worming and flea control. They can offer a sympathetic ear, a friendly face and support during your visit to our surgeries.
