Meet our Farm Team

Sarah joined the Hampden team shortly after graduating in 2004, and has a passion for livestock farming. She enjoys working with commercial farms to improve productivity and profitability, whilst still loving the challenge of a calving, lambing or sick animal.

Originally from West Yorkshire, Caroline graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2017. After working in a mixed practice, she decided that farm work was her passion and joined us in 2020. She particularly enjoys calving and lambing, and spends much of her free time walking (and spoiling) her Labrador, Poppy.

Maggie graduated from Lisbon University in 2018, and began her career at Westpoint Farm Vets. She has since fallen in love with British farming, and has developed a keen interest in beef cattle medicine, fertility and surgery. Much of her free time is spent walking in the woods with her partner and their dog, Billy, and enjoying home cooked meals with family.

Growing up on a small farm in Bedfordshire inspired Sally to become a farm vet, and she joined us shortly after graduating from the University of Surrey in 2022. She enjoys all aspects of her role, especially herd health, and has two horses of her own that keep her busy in her spare time.

Kirsty Graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2022, and worked at a farm animal practice in Somerset before joining our team. Originally from Cumbria, she enjoys all things farm, especially youngstock health. When she’s not working, she can usually be found walking her dog, Sally.

Sophie is from Buckinghamshire, and has a veterinary degree from the University of Surrey and a BSc from the Royal Veterinary College. Her education and experience of lambing, shearing and scanning have led her to develop a particular interest in flock health and reproduction. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising her horses and going for walks in the countryside with her dog, Tilly.

Sarah graduated from Glasgow University in 2004, and worked in mixed practices in Shropshire and Thame before deciding to focus on farm work. She enjoys all aspects of farm practice, and attends a variety of calls across the countryside. She and her family live on a mixed beef and arable farm, and when she’s not working she enjoys helping out at home and exploring the countryside with her dog, Sid.

Graduated from RVC in 2024 starting practice in a small animal Hospital in Bedford, Cerne is now trying his hand as a large animal vet! He enjoys small holder work and surgery whenever possible. While he keeps his hand in with the small animal world once a week, he is enjoying the latest challenge of switching species!

Outside of work he plays for the local hockey club with running taking up the remainder of his spare time.

Ellie graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2026, and joined the practice shortly after. She enjoys all aspects of farm vetting, but has particular interests in camelid medicine and large animal surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys playing lacrosse, catching up with friends, and baking.

Louis joined the team after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2026. He enjoys all aspects of farm practice, especially a good calving or lambing. In his free time, he can normally be found either playing or watching rugby.

Lois joined us in 2021 after completing her foundation degree in agricultural science. She is a qualified TB tester with experience working with small animals, horses and livestock, and has shown sheep and cattle in livestock shows. In her own time, she is an avid foodie and loves walking her dog, Buzz, in the countryside.

Amanda has been a dedicated member of the Hampdens team for over 12 years, beginning her journey as an Equine Secretary. Her commitment and hard work have led her to the role of Deputy Practice Manager, where she continues to contribute significantly to the practice’s success.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Amanda enjoys a fulfilling personal life. She loves spending her spare time with her beloved horses, which have always been a passion of hers. Amanda is also a proud owner of two lively cocker spaniels, who keep her entertained and active. Additionally, she cherishes the moments spent with her children, making the most of family time.

Joined 2021

Amy joined Hampden Equine in 2021 after a short stint in the small animal department, and having also been a client of Hampden Equine for all of her horse owning life. Amy has been promoted to Large Animal Account Manager.

Alongside the day to day running of the Large Animal office Amy also works with the practice sustainability team to drive change and improvements. In her spare time she likes to spend time with Harvey, who is a beautiful palomino gelding that she bred, and Alfie who is also a beautiful palomino that joined the family in 2022. Outside of her horsey life Amy spends as much time as possible with her family and friends.

Joined 2005
Sam started working in the Equine team in 2005, having worked in the Farm department a few years previously. Since having her daughter in 2011, Sam can be found in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays. In her spare time, she loves gardening and walking her dogs and taking her daughter Lucy and her pony ‘Snappie’ to Pony Club and local competitions

Becky joined the team in 2018, and loves catching up with our vets and hearing stories about their visits. She keeps Welsh cobs in her free time, which her family have bred and shown in the UK for generations, and is an avid gardener who can often be found tending to her allotment. She also enjoys going to the cinema and taking part in pub quizzes.

Sophie is one of our part-time secretaries and is the key contact in the office for all things TB. She has always had a keen interest in large animals and studied animal behaviour and welfare at Bristol University, so she loves hearing stories from our vets about the animals they treat. She has two children, keeps a small flock of chickens and has her own pony, who is based locally.

Joined 2025

Leah Joined the Equine team on a fixed term contract working with the Barrettstown clinic team, and after 7 months she joined the Large Animal Secretary team on a fulltime permanent basis. In her spare time, she competes at Elementary level dressage and has bred 2 gorgeous colts, Squeak 19 months and Moët Born May 25.
