Tonia Simms
Clinical Director
BVSc MRCVS DBRTonia grew up in Knutsford and graduated from Bristol University in 2007. Her career has seen her work in farm and dairy practices, and she has a particular interest in holistic approaches to production medicine. She holds a diploma and is an advanced practitioner in bovine reproduction, and loves exploring rural Bedfordshire with her young family.

Dr. Sarah Taylor
Senior Vet
MA VetMB MRCVSSarah joined the Hampden team shortly after graduating in 2004, and has a passion for livestock farming. She likes to apply the latest knowledge and innovations to her work, and loves to focus on the individual (particularly when dealing with the challenges of calving or lambing), whilst also considering the whole herd or flock and the financial side of things.

Dr. Caroline Cooper
Veterinary Surgeon
BVetMed MRCVSOriginally from West Yorkshire, Caroline graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2017. After working in a mixed practice, she decided that farm work was her passion and joined us in 2020. She particularly enjoys calving and lambing, and spends much of her free time walking (and spoiling) her Labrador, Poppy.

Dr. Hannah Cairns
Veterinary Surgeon
MA VetMB MRCVSHannah graduated from Cambridge University in 2017, and gained experience at a farm practice in Sussex before joining the Hampden team in 2019. She loves all aspects of farm work, and is especially keen on sheep flock health. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, watching movies and catching up with friends.

Dr. Margarida (Maggie) Ferrador
Veterinary Surgeon
MSC MRCVSMaggie graduated from Lisbon University in 2018, and began her career at Westpoint Farm Vets. She has since fallen in love with British farming, and has developed a keen interest in beef cattle medicine, fertility and surgery. Much of her free time is spent walking in the woods with her partner and their dog, Billy, and enjoying home cooked meals with family.

Dr. Sally Kitchiner
Veterinary Surgeon
BVMSci (Hons) MRCVSGrowing up on a small farm in Bedfordshire inspired Sally to become a farm vet, and she joined us shortly after graduating from the University of Surrey in 2022. She enjoys all aspects of her role, especially herd health, and has two horses of her own that keep her busy in her spare time.

Lois Honeywell
Veterinary Technician
ATTLois joined us in 2021 after completing her foundation degree in agricultural science. She is a qualified TB tester with experience working with small animals, horses and livestock, and has shown sheep and cattle in livestock shows. In her own time, she is an avid foodie and loves walking her dog, Buzz, in the countryside.

Molly Mead
Approved Veterinary Technician
ATTMolly grew up on a beef and sheep farm with a great farm shop, and joined the practice in 2022. Outside of work, she is a big part of many rural organisations, and became an NFU student and young farmer ambassador in 2023. She also loves spending time with her dog, Nelly, and doing arts and crafts.

Secretary
Becky joined the team in 2021, and loves catching up with our vets and hearing stories about their farm visits. She keeps Welsh cobs in her free time, which her family have bred and shown in the UK for generations, and is an avid garden who can often be found tending to her allotment. She also enjoys going to the cinema and taking part in pub quizzes.

Dr. Kirsty Wilson
Veterinary Surgeon
BSc (Hons) BVetMedKirsty Graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2022, and worked at a farm animal practice in Somerset before joining our team. Originally from Cumbria, she enjoys all things farm, especially youngstock health. When she’s not working, she can usually be found walking her dog, Sally.

Jess Faulkner
Veterinary Surgeon
BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVSBorn and raised in Bedfordshire, Jess joined us shortly after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2023. She has a particular interest in smallholder medicine, poultry work and large animal surgery, and is programme secretary of Leighton Buzzard Young Farmers. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her puppy, Douglas, out.

Sophie Skyrme
Veterinary Surgeon
BSc BVMSciSophie is from Buckinghamshire, and has a veterinary degree from the University of Surrey and a BSc from the Royal Veterinary College. Her education and experience of lambing, shearing and scanning have led her to develop a particular interest in flock health and reproduction. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising her horses and going for walks in the countryside with her dog, Tilly.

BVMS MRCVSSarah graduated from Glasgow University in 2004, and worked in mixed practices in Shropshire and Thame before deciding to focus on farm work. She enjoys all aspects of farm practice, and attends a variety of calls across the countryside. She and her family live on a mixed beef and arable farm, and when she’s not working she enjoys helping out at home and exploring the countryside with her dog, Sid.

Sophie Warner
TB Secretary
Sophie is a part-time administrator and responsible for our TB work. She has always had a keen interest in large animals and studied animal behaviour and welfare at Bristol University, so she loves hearing stories from our vets about the animals they treat. She has two children, keeps a small flock of chickens and has her own pony, who is based locally.

Kirst Higgs
Secretary
Kirst joined the Hampden team in 2023, and is usually the first person to answer the many calls we receive! She is also responsible for organising our practice and client meetings. Outside of work, she can often be found walking her dog, Rizzo, or doing amazing arts and crafts.
